Benjamin and Mikaela Naugle have spent summers volunteering at Victory Bible Camp since 2019 and 2016 respectively. Benjamin spent the winter of 2019-2020 serving as an intern and neither of them planned to continually return, but the Lord had a way of drawing them back to the ministry each year. After they were married in fall 2020, Aaron Meeuwsen, the former Doulos Director, reached out and asked them to join the summer Doulos staff. Except for the summer of 2023, when their first son was born, they have spent each summer serving together at Victory in the Doulos program.
Both Benjamin and Mikaela grew up in Pennsylvania and met while playing homeschool volleyball together. In 2020 Benjamin started his own construction and remodeling business with the prayer that the Lord would use it to enable them to continue being involved in missions. The Lord answered that prayer and they enjoyed nearly 5 years living in PA, serving at their local church, hosting a young adults Bible study, and volunteering their summers at VBC. By the end of the summer camp season in 2025, it became clear that their next step as a family was to apply for full time ministry at camp in order to continue working with the Doulos program and assist in maintenance.
We look forward to what the Lord has in store for our family as we continue to live our lives with our hands open to the Lord’s will.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Isaiah 55: 8-12
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
