Backpacking Adventure and Backpacking Explorers 

 

Required Gear

* Limited quantity available to rent through Wilderness by donation  

Raincoat * (e.g. Gortex or waterproof material, seam taped) 

Rain Pants *  (e.g. Gortex or waterproof material, seam taped) 

Hiking Boots*  (personal boots, already worn and broken-in are best!)

Sleeping bag*  (preferred to bring your own)

Sleeping pad*  (preferred to bring your own)

Backpack*   (preferred to bring your own)

Pack Cover*   (preferred to bring your own)

Camping cup, bowl, spoon

1L Water bottle – Water bladders are allowed, but need to be guaranteed to not leak. 

Warm Coat  (fleece, synthetic) 

Warm Hat 

3 Shirts (synthetic or wool preferred)

3 Pants (synthetic strongly preferred)

5 Socks/underwear 

Sunglasses (polarized)

Toiletries

Towel 

Swimwear (Girls: a one piece suit or tankini, swim shorts/athletic recommended)

 

Suggested (Preferential Gear)

Bible (small, pocket size preferred) 

Notebook and pen/pencil

Bugnet/headnet  

Headlamp

Lip balm (with SPF)

Sunscreen

Camp shoes (light weight)

Base layer (or any thin under layer)
