Victory Bible Camp’s life blood is the volunteers who take time out of their busy schedules in order to help us spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our positions include
Cook ○ Housekeeper ○ Nurse

Kitchen
- Will work one of the 3 meal shifts which is about 4-5 hours alongside one of our lead cooks.
- Prior experience preparing food for large groups not required, our lead cooks will provide necessary direction
Facilities
- We have 400 acres and 80 buildings on camp property that require upkeep and upgrades
- May work alongside other volunteers/ work team or independently depending on skills & need
Nurse (Needed during June and July)
- Must have AK nursing license
- Will be part of a team of 2 nurses who are here during a week of camp from Sunday at 3:30 pm through Friday at 11 am.
- Responsibilities include: collecting medications during Camper check-in on Sundays, pass meds at the scheduled times (mainly meals & bedtime), share on-call coverage while campers are here (this is around the clock)
- Health Center Coordinator (RN) is on staff and able to help as needed.
Auto Mechanic
- Assist our full-time mechanic on projects.
- We have a range of vehicles & equipment from chainsaws to payloader that all need to be maintained throughout the year, especially during the high use of summer.

Q: Who is going to be my point of contact?
A: It will vary depending on which area you are serving but you can always reach out to volunteer@vbcalaska.org
Q: When should I arrive? (June & July)
A: This can depend on your role & the time of year
- If you are flying in, we try to keep airport runs to Saturdays during the summer.
- Sometimes we can pick people up on Friday afternoon (by 4:00 pm) after we drop off campers. (only applies during summer camp season)

Q: When should I plan to fly out? (June & July)
A: There are a few options for summer time
Friday – You can ride in with staff when they drop campers off. They would drop you off sometime between 2:00 & 3:00 pm
Saturday – anytime
Sunday – You can ride in with the staff who are picking up campers. They would drop you off between 1:00 & 1:30 pm
ALL other days require prior approval due to staff being busy
Q: I am NOT coming during June or July so what about my arrival & departure plans?
A: Please reach out to volunteer@vbcalaska.org so we can make plans specifically for your trip that work with other things happening at camp!
Q: Do we have to pay for food or housing?
A: No, however donations are appreciated to help cover expenses.
Often people ask what is the suggested donation?
If you are volunteering for 2 weeks or less…
suggested donation is $250 per person per week.
Q: Where am I staying?
A: Most of the time our volunteers stay in our Lakeside facilities
Q: Can I bring an RV?
A: Yes! We usually have plenty of RV spots with water, power and septic hookups.
Suggested donation $25.00 per night
Q: Are there laundry facilities available?
A: Yes, you are able to use the laundry facilities as needed.
Just remember that these are shared facilities and can be a busy place.
Q: Do I need to bring bedding?
A: If you are coming from out-of-state or off the AK road system …
No, we will provide bedding
If you are coming from in-state & on the road system …
yes, please bring your own bedding
Q: What does a typical day look like?
A: This will depend on the area that you are working… for example the
kitchen staff, nurses & chapel speakers will have their own schedules.
The general schedule will be something like the following…
8:00 am – Group Devotions (Bring your bible along!)
8:30 am – Breakfast
*9:30 am – Project Assignments
12:30 pm – Lunch
*1:30 pm – Project Assignments
6:00 pm – Supper
7:00 pm – Free time to explore VBC and Alaska!
*may start earlier if people are done eating
Q: I am serving for multiple weeks, will I have any days off?
A: Yes, for those who are serving for multiple weeks we try to give you time off!
