Ben and Bethany Fisher

Ben and Bethany Fisher began their ministry at VBC in the fall of 2022. During their first winter at camp, Ben primarily assisted with the Maintenance Team. By the summer of 2023, the Fishers were working together in directing the Venture Camp. Last year, while still working with the Venture Camp, Ben and Bethany assisted with the re-start of the VBC Wilderness Camp. Victory had a Wilderness Camp several years ago, so it was really exciting to see the camp back on the schedule! Ben worked as the Program Director and Bethany assisted with the Logistics. Another VBC full-time staff member, Maryanna VerMulm, worked as the Program Assistant. While Venture and Wilderness are very different they are sister-camps, where campers can experience the outdoors from an entry level (Venture) all the way to an expedition level (Wilderness) through both camps.

  There is never a dull moment in camping ministry. During the fall and winter months, Ben and Bethany help out in whatever capacity is needed at camp. They praise God for bringing them to Victory and look forward to seeing how God will use them as they minister alongside the VBC family.

A Little History: Ben and Bethany both grew up in the Lower 48, Ben in North Dakota and Bethany in Oregon. After graduating from high school, Ben attended Prairie Bible College and earned the Wilderness Outdoor Leadership Certificate through the Explore Program.They have worked in camping ministry for most of their lives. In 2010, they began leading youth in wilderness camping ministry full time in Alaska. Before that they were involved in camps in Oregon, Montana, and Colorado. During the years of leading youth in the Alaskan wilderness they gained extensive experience, knowledge, and familiarity with leading and guiding in a remote wilderness setting. Ben is also Wilderness First Responder Certified. Both Ben and Bethany have a heart for the Lord, a heart for camping ministry, love serving God as a family and sharing His Word with people of all ages.

Ben and Bethany were married in 2006 and have three children: Jade (12yrs), Makkedah (10yrs), and Kallin (9yrs). All three kids have been born and raised in Alaska. They love exploring in the wilderness and have thrived joining their parents in camping ministry. The whole family feels blessed to be on this adventure at Victory Bible Camp.
