Spruce fire

Spruce Lodge Recovery

It is with heavy, yet grateful, hearts that we inform you that on Thursday, October 23, 2025, a fire destroyed Spruce Lodge. By God’s grace, no one was hurt, the building was empty, and no other structures or trees were damaged. While we don’t yet know what caused the fire, no foul play is suspected.

Our staff, joined by many from the Glacier View community, worked late into the night with water tanks and hoses to fight the blaze. We’re so thankful for their quick response and support, and for God’s unchanging faithfulness that holds us steady through this loss.

Romans 8:28 reminds us, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” We’re trusting God to guide us forward, confident in His good plan.

Since sharing the news on Facebook early on October 24, we’ve been touched by your outpouring of love and support. Reading your memories of Spruce Lodge and how it shaped your faith in the Lord has been a real encouragement. Please keep following our Facebook page for updates.

As staff and community fought the fire, we saw the cross shining through the flames in Spruce Lodge’s windows. It reminded us to fix our eyes on Christ, who reconciled us to God through His sacrifice.

Victory Bible camp exists to evangelize and disciple children, youth, and adults in Alaska for Jesus Christ through Christian camping.
