Wilderness Camp is designed to give you a truly remote backcountry experience. Surrounded by the natural beauty of creation, you will encounter who God is and that He has designed everything with a purpose. You will learn new techniques and skills specific for your camp or continue to develop the skills you already have. Wilderness is designed to challenge you while giving you a fun and exciting 11 days! The Wilderness Camp staff is dedicated to facilitating excitement and exploration! It’s our desire that you grow stronger physically, emotionally and most of all…spiritually!

Experience the wilderness in a unique way while sea kayaking in Prince William Sound with the destination of Blackstone Bay. You’ll spend time exploring the beauty of God’s creation and learning more about Him as you see the glaciers calve and watch the whales, sea lions and otters swim. You will have a chance to make glacial iceberg slushies and explore waterfalls. Whether you bring along a friend or make new friends throughout the week, you’ll enjoy playing games, exploring the Bible, and learning more about the ocean and the wilderness around it. The Wilderness Camp staff is dedicated to facilitating excitement and exploration! It’s our desire that you grow stronger physically, emotionally and most of all…spiritually!

This trip is designed to give you the full experience of what backpacking and camping in the rugged Alaskan wilderness is all about. Experience the beauty and complexity of God’s creation as you step off the beaten path, explore the valleys, and summit a majestic mountain. You will have the opportunity to experience outdoor cooking, mountain traveling, camping techniques, and orienteering. Whether you bring along a friend or make new friends throughout the week, you’ll enjoy playing games, exploring the Bible, and learning more about the wilderness around you. Required Personal Gear

  • Raincoat (e.g. Grundens commercial fishing)
  • Rain Pants (e.g. Grundens commercial fishing)
  • Hiking Boots (please have them broken in)
  • Warm Coat (fleece, synthetic)
  • Warm Hat
  • Shirts (synthetic or wool)
  • Pants (synthetic)
  • Socks (synthetic or wool)
  • Base Layer (or any thin under layer)
  • Sunglasses (polarized)
  • Headlamp
  • Bible
  • Notebook and Pen/Pencil
  • Toiletries
  • Swimwear (Girls: a one piece suit, swim shorts/athletic recommended)
  • Casual wear clothes/shoes (for when you aren’t on a trip)
  • Spending money (for the Gift Shop)
  • Towel and washcloth

  • Sleeping bag (preferred to have/bring your own)
  • Sleeping pad (preferred to have/bring your own)

  • 1L Water bottle – Water bladders are allowed, but need to be guaranteed to not leak. (preferred to have/bring your own)

  • Camp shoes (for when you are at a campsite and you won’t want to wear your hiking boots (best to be closed toed shoe, light weight)

  • Rain hat (only for sea kayaking)
